HELP!!! 87 2.8 'S' engine,MAF problem

My camaro started running like crap and showed a code 33 and failed the tap test.I replaced the MAF sensor and it still didnt run right...code 33 came back in a couple of days...didnt perform the tap test....replaced the MAF sensor again,both new not re-man....ran great for cpl days and code 33 came back but passes the tap test...any suggestions?..I have checked the connector and it shows a solid 5 and 12 volts while wiggling the wires....HELP PLEASE!!!....also replaced air filters...TIA

Code 33 is the MAP sensor, not the MAF sensor. Replace the MAP (Manifold Absulute Pressure) sensor & you should be OK. If the MAP sesor is good, the car will run pretty good with the MAF disconnected, but not the other way around.

Yu are correct 89's & ealrlier ran with the MAF only. Being that you relaced the MAF and checked the wiring, the other option is the ECM. You could try disconnecting the battery for about 1/2 hour to give the computer time to forget all learned parameter and come up with a fresh start, sometimes it helps.

I appreciate the attempt at help but my 6 year old daughter gave better advise....on her suggestion,I checked/changed the air filters and the problem was solved...thanks a lot...:>(

LMAO some people just crack me up they come in here expecting you to solve their problems when they aren't even smart enough to maintenance their car. guess what? you have to change the oil everynow and then too. LMAO. sick
