Default engine problem

i have an 89 camaro with an Lt 350 motor. it has a new intake manifold and holly carb. my problem is the temp gauge is reading like 230 degrees while it is just sitting and running good. also i continue to have to add antifreeze. i have stoped running it since this started happening. Could it be a blown head gasket?

Please help thanks

HAve you performed a compression test to verify the status of the head gaskets?? Is the car blowing a lot whitish smoke that smells like burning antifreeze?? Get a test kit from an auto supply store to check for the presence of combustion gases in the coolant.
