Default Heater trouble...

Okay everyone I am soo lost right now. My car has been a problem since I got it 3 years ago. Here where I live it's currently 28 below zero (windchill)One daymy car heater decided to crap out on me... the blower works but it just blows out cold air... The next day my heater was back but now my car overheated.... So I replaced the thermostat..now it doesn't overheat but I have no heat again. What is goin on??? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I hope you are using enough antifreeze. Sounds like you are light on the stuff and the coolant is jelling up and clogging things up. Feel you heater hoses when the engine is hot, they both should be as hot as the radiator hoses. If they feel cold the hetaer core is clogged up, either by rust or by ice.
