Ah. Well in that case, all of the aftermarket headers (aside from FFF longtubes) come with a Y-pipe that already have O2 bungs in there.

Good luck getting it back on the road and shoot me a message if ya got a question. I usually check the forum once a day at least.

And yes I drive an auto. Although they are better for the track, I would much rather drive a manual =P But I take my auto and have fun with it for now. That is until I buy a Firehawk

I have looked at headers til my eyes are crossed and didnt realize the Y pipe has the bongs for o2 sensors. I was looking at a used set off a wreck to save some $ but was considering buying new just for sake of gaskets and bolts, but if I didnt need the y pipe was gonna go with used. Thanks again to CF! After reading the great MOD threads with so much info, I have learned lots and will probably go with new run the Y but still delete or gut the cat, thanks for your help, and I have to have my cell phone hand free or I would much rather have the manual. My next one will be manual too, I will start the search asa I get the 96 back on the road. Thanks for the open door for questions, you may hear from me, I start putting it back together next week.

I will tell you right now. Do NOT use any gaskets that come with aftermarket headers. Go to a GM dealership and pay the 30some odd dollars to get a MLS exhaust manifold gasket. Felpros and paper gaskets will ALL leak. I know it's cheaper to do it the other ways... But I certainly don't like the sound of exhaust leaks.

I'm buying a Z28/SS/TA in the summer and one of my requirements is it HAS to be 6 speed. And yeah man, we're here to help. Hit any of us up and I'm sure we can at least try to point ya in the right direction.

if you want to know what you can do to gain hp check out musicmans thread. the heads and intake take kindly to some p&p. heads done with the right cam and exhaust and a few other mods and the 3.8 can push the same hp as a stock lt1.

I actually made more RWHP (251) than a stock LT1 with my heads and cam until I decided I wanted to strap an M90 to the top of it I think Steve (Musicman) made like 248 RWHP on a slipping clutch.
