I own a 2000 Camaro that's packin the 3.8 Series ii and an automatic transmission. I was just wondering, does anybody know what the stock gear ratio for my car is? Or how I could find out? I'm thinking about changing the gear ratio, but I don't know enough yet. I've heard alot of different things. I don't care much for a high top speed, but I would like to increase my 0-60 time and my quarter. 90% of the races I do end at about 90, so I'd rather have a quicker car, than one that has a higher top speed. Any suggestions or answers, would be greatly appreciated.

 

Put a set of 3.73 gears in and don't worry about it.

 

base gear ratio is 3.08...if you have the y87 package w/ LSD you have 3.42 gears...

yea 3.73's or 3.42's

 

i have heard if u have a good cam wit those gears is REALLY good , than if you just have the gears. Also ur speedo may be off because of the gears, so u might have to tune the PCM
