So my waterpump gasket is leaking from the bolt above the tensioner. It is now also leaking right below the power steering pump. Is that where the timing cover is? Should I go ahead and replace both gaskets?

Thisd is how mine started leaking too. I replaced the water pump and a week later the timing cover was leaking too so I had to re-seal the timing cover. Do both at the same time. Also check the guides and timing chain while it's open. Make sure to clean that cover well and remove the old gasket. Same with the water pump. If you use the black gasket maker to re-seal everything I suggest you put it back together and don't put coolant in it right away. Leave it overnight if you can so it'll make a proper seal. Then put the coolant in the next day and bleed the system. Before you take off the timing cover, back-flush the system by spraying a hose in the lines. And change your thermostat too.

 

^^ what he said, but I am going to add replace the little plastic elbows that connect the water pump to the heater hose manifold and to the intake manifold. Actually where you are talking about the leak comming from sounds like it could be those little things. Check them out and you can get them from the Help section of your local autopart store. They are sold in a pack of 2 and you get both the ones you need.

OH I forgot to mention. These break where the O ring groove is and will leave part in the manifold. Make sure to get all the pieces out first or the new one will not go in properly.

Could someone be kind enough to post a picture of the power steering pump bracket?

 

I recently did all this work to my car. Timing cover gasket, water pump, water pump gasket, thermostat, timing chain, sprockets, spark plugs, plug wires, coolant flush, and oil change... All for $500 That's including parts and labor. Good luck.

Hah, yah. I got every disassembled down to the timing cover. Turns out it was leaking from two spots in the timing chain cover. Both at the coolant ports for it. Have a long day ahead of me tomorrow pulling the balancer and cover.

Is your engine a 3.4L? If so where does passenger valve cover breather go to?

 

Yes, it's a 3.4.

The passenger side valve cover has a rubber elbow that connects to a slender aluminum pipe. That pipe runs forward, along the top of the valve cover, and then curves to fit into the air inlet duct.
