I have a 99 3.8L. Lately the gas gauge has been fluctuating once it gets below half. It will move from a quater to half while driving. Sometimes it even goes low enough to set the Check Gauges light and then back up. Should I look at replacing the sending unit?

 

If you are going to change the sending unit, it may be a good idea to replace the fuel pump at the same time, and save yourself a lot of work. After 14 years the pump is probably on its last leg.
