Exclamation Oil Pressure fluctuating and SES (EGR problem)

The oil pressure gauge fluctuates quite a bit on my 96 Z28. See for yourself as I rev to 3,000:

YouTube - VIDEO0008

Is this normal for an 80,000 mile car that just had a recent oil change? I was wondering if this is a problem with my PCV valve or if it could be somehow linked to another reoccurring problem I've been having. I used an OBD2 diagnostic tool to uncover why my service light came on roughly 2 weeks ago and found 2 DTCs:

- P1657 aka Skip Shift unplugged (no worries, did that last week after 10 trips to the gas station so now I can shift when I please)
- P0400 aka Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow

I'd assume there's something wrong with my EGR valve or something in the EGR system, but I was wondering if there is any correlation between my sharp oil pressure increases and this DTC. The CAT and O2 monitors on the diagnostic tool refuse to complete their tests, but I can tell the car is running rich judging by the potent smell of gasoline, the crap mileage, and the popping from my exhaust upon decelerating (you can hear it in the video when I take off the throttle if you listen closely). Is there any common factor to all of these problems?

Any suggestions of how to go about fixing these problems?

no egr should not have an effect on the oil pressure readout.pressure flux is not unusuall. a tad low on idle, what wt of oil are you using? may want to switch to a little heavier.

The car is filled with a quart of Royal Purple 5W30 and the rest topped off with Mobil-1 of the same weight. I also changed the oil filter to a Fram PH30 if that's at all relevant.

i would get rid of the fram filter. next time you change oil try 10w30. should bring you pressure up a tad.
