If it starts kinda hard and you smell gas I'd bet the fuel pressure regulator. Careful though, if you dont get it fixed soon it will foul the cat.

 

He's right about the guage being super inaccurate... mine is all over the place!

So what's that...18 miles for a quarter tank?! That's pretty bad. For sure check all the lines from the tank to the engine especially by the fuel filter for gas odor. Do the same underneath the hood and see if you can pinpoint a leak.

And I've never heard of leaky fuel injectors before but who knows! Good luck
