First Post, Hp gain???
I have a 95 3.4 V6, its not the quickest thing in the world but it will go when I need it to. The transmission slips from first to second kinda hard and when I floor it, it shifts hard second to third. transmission slipping my guess. But there is a kid with a Celica GT300 Inline 4 II believe with a cold air intake. What should I do to make my car just blow it away?I don't want to just win, I want to blow his **** out of the water. I know its just a V6 so it is limited. Ive gotten it past 110 no problem. My friend in a Element SC raced him and he kept up till the Celica shifted into second...then it sort of takes off. I'm thinkin a K&N cold air intake and something else.. I don't have hte money for a turbo..

Well ur camaro is a lot heavyer than the celica and a cold air intake wont do that much for u....maybe 6-10 extra horses. If u got alittle extra pocket change, say........$2000-$3000 dollars, u can supper-charge it.But im not positive if a suppercharger is compatible with a v6, im pretty shure it is, but that would add 100-200 HP.

those celica's arent that quick, get 3.73 gears or 4.10's and some good headers with a cheap e-bay cold air intake, higher flowing exhaust, and a chip/or tune you will waste him...
what year is the celica, you may not need all the mods i mentioned if you give us the weight/ year of his car, alot of older celica's are slow.
by the way, if something is wrong with your car (trans) you should have it checked out asap, you dont want to mess your car up racing some deusch in a celica

Also are k&n cold air intakes the best? i have a friend that used one on his truck and it FLIES. I used to use K& N on my old atv.. any ideas?

RE: First Post, Hp gain???
LOL!!!!! wow ill bet that K&N filter on his truck just made all the horsepower! i hear they add atleast a good 90 hp!
.... i personally woudnt go with flowmasters... id go with magnaflow or borla, but borla will cost u a nice little amount so id stick with magnaflow. if you get gears from what i can tell you wont be able to put them in urself, so u would prolly have to have a shop do it or have a mechanically minded friend help you. yeah you can most likely find a programmer on ebay. what isnt listed on ebay! O and yes, you will hear most everyone tell you K&N is the best, but everyone has their own opinions.
... look on the thread "need some cheap hp mods FAST!" thread. there are some pretty good links on there.

Otherwise, don't bother. As bad as the stock factory iron heads flow, don't even begin to think some CAI will do anything for you.

Read the stickies. Namely the one about the 3400 FWD v6 top end swap...the one I posted pics of.
One guy I know of so far....

As for thermostats, well, you need a chip to optimize that tweak...but, the 3.4L computer can not be tuned in that manner, much less any widely available manner now.
OBD 1.5 = doozie.
