Ok. Right now my plans are: make the camaro how I want it to looke. Then when it comes to it... Swap the engine to a v8. I still want the exhaust now. Can I buy jut the cat-backs and still have the deep roar. I decided to go with borla.

Hold on there buddy. Unless you have some serious money and mechanical know how, a v8 swap is out of the question. Our cars are built around the engine and A LOT needs to be swapped. You basically need a full z28/SS donor car. As for exhaust, just a cat back isnt gonna get rid of that rasp and give you that deep sound. The only way to eliminate that rasp is true duals and expect to pay a pretty penny. If you can, go for the true duals they really do sound good but if you arent, at least some pacesetter headers, a magnaflow cat (If your state requires emissions testing) and a cat back of your choice. Doing the full exhaust will really open it up and make it sound better, but the best choice sound wise in my opinion is true duals.

Ok. I don't have Money... Lol but and the engine swap will be more than a grand correct? And I have no aftermarket exhaust.. So it's better to get the whole exhaust system for about a grand is what your saying?

A swap will be far more than a grand plus labor. Like I stated you basically need a full donor car. Get yourself some Pacesetter mid tubes, a magnaflow cat if your state requires emissions inspections, a muffler of your choice, Magnaflow or Borla if you can shell out the extra for the borla and you will be good. Its a pretty common set up for people trying to get a better sound and a little performance out of the 3.8. If you have a grand to spend on the exhaust set up, go for true duals. Reasoning why true duals cost so much is because everything past the header needs to be custom made by you or a shop and that can get costly. Here is some exhaust clips from youtube.

Just a flowmaster cat back. Its pretty raspy.

This is a full set up. (Headers/magnaflow cat/magnaflow catback) Still kinda raspy but much more deeper tone.
96 Camaro RS - Pacesetter Headers/Magnaflow - Windows up Exhaust (Video 7 of Transformation) - YouTube

And finally a true dual set up. This being one of my favorite sound clips on youtube. His set up is in the video description and note hes revving to the redline.

Hopefully this provides some help

I would really like to hear a sound or video clip of your RS, I've tried to find a video of a 3.8 with the borla catback but all I find are V8s with that system.

I also have a Borla on my 2000 3.8. People constantly ask what my "v8" gets on gas so to the untrained ear it does the trick. It also has headers and a whisper intake which may affect the sound slightly but I love the Borla sound at idle and at high rpm. No regrets and highly recommend.

Anyone have a model # for the Borla catback. I only saw them for the 5.7L engine.

Thanks
