Default Exhaust choice

Hey guys I just got my 3.8. And just like anybody else I want it to sound the exact opposite of a ricer. I want the deepest sound. What exhaust system should I go with. And what website can I fin them in. I'm sorta new to modding my camaro so I'm starting from scratch. Thanks.

What year is it?

Best sounding V6 exhaust is the Borla Adjustable cat-back, as you can tune the sound with the restrictor plates or a electronic valve from the cockpit. Even fully blocked off it sounds great! Ask me how I know.

Magnaflow. Don't pay the price for teh Borla, just isn't worth it. Magnaflow makes quality catbacks that sound very good on the v6's.

I agree, I like my magnaflow muffler. The only way you can get rid of rasp is to go true dual, which is ridiculously expensive.

Flowmaster sound better at idle but magnaflow is a better all around sound. The flowmaster gets raspy 3500 RPMs and up and they make a horrible sound if you down shift.

Thumbs up

I have no regrets with the Borla Adjustable (3" pipe) and notice NO rasp -- love the sound. Sounds very little like a V6!

No exhaust will sound like a V8 and every exhaust will have some rasp in the higher RPMs, just the nature of our engines. Full system will sound good at startup, idle and low RPMs, but will rasp some when you get on it.

Headers, bigger I-pipe, hi-flo cat will help any exhaust sound it's best.
