Default Evap codes

Every time i fill up with gas, it takes me about 15 minutes because of the pumps auto stop thing. I know that my check engine light is on, and that the code is for EVAP control circuit malfuntion or something of that nature. I was wondering how hard it is to change the charcoal canister or to repair vacuum lines, i found the little panel under the drivers rear fender that protects it but it looks like you have to take the wheel off to be able to work there at all. Anyone else ever had this happen or have replaced the canister? Thanks

I actually had decided it wasnt really a problem until my car began to require about 2 more seconds of cranking time to start[:@] dunno what the hell that is about but i figure it could be related. Any way guess whats behind that panel in the left rear fender, nothing. Atleast not on my car, and that has me a little worried but if it gets worse ill just take it to a shop and let them poke around until they find the evap canister. Oh and i almost forgot, this is the 4th time ive looked in the haynes manual and got unreliable info with the picture zoomed so damn far in its only a picture of the part, not where its at. I am fairly certain there is an evap canister attached to my car somewhere, but where it is i do not know, or care at the moment, i just need new breaks.....[:'(] i hate buying used cars.

The extra cranking could be fuel system problems -- try a fuel system cleaner and put in a little more than it recommends, like the Lucas one. Could also be your fuel filter or fuel pump...
