engine type

Default engine type

how do i find out what type of v6 engine i have. IE 3.4 l32 or 3.4 LA1, LNJ or LQ1, oh and its not the original motor i have swapped the engine.

If you got the engine from another 93/94/95 Camaro I'm pretty sure that it can *only* be the L32 (VIN S) engine. Not hard to say since that's the only V6 installed in F-cars those years. It's an iron block, iron head engine mounted longitudinally and found only in rear wheel drive (RWD) vehicles.
The LQ1 3.4 is (I think) VIN X and easily distinguished since it is a DOHC engine. Found only in W-cars, I think, and they're transverse engine, front wheel drive (FWD).
The LA1 (VIN E) is only in later (1999?) Grand Am and Olds Alero, again transverse/FWD.
Oh, I think all the transverse/FWD 3.4s have aluminum heads.

'95 had BOTH 3.4 & 3.8 engines, supposedly in that year the 3.8s were mostly in California (said with the Governator's best accent) ;-)
