engine removal

I found a pic to show you what I mean. I found it on Google, its not me. I would guess it took me 5-6 hours to get mine out but that is me working 100% solo. A second pair of hands would help a lot. I also have 3 crushed disks in my back so speed is not my thing anymore.

ok. ya ill break it down into 2 days then. ok so if i do decide to drop the engine out the bottom how am i lifting the body? Gorn, you said to lift it from the front frame rails. am i threading bolts in or am i just hooking the cherry picker on the car? sorry if this sounds stupid but ive never dropped an engine. only have taken then out of the top of the engine. but thanks everyone for the info. darlingreject- that does sound easy but also seems like if your not careful you can drop a lot of crap and make it turn into a hassle lol.

I used a chain and wrapped it around both front frame rails. If I remember correctly, there are a couple metal mounts that the front sway bar attaches to. I went between them and the frame around the cruise control module on the drivers side and on the passenger side, where the overflow tank sits down in there, I found a way to get a chain through there to loop the frame.

I couldn't find a place to hook up a cherry picker to the unibody. I thought about placing a 4x4 piece of lumber under the frame rails and connecting a chain to that but I was afraid it would be in my way. I ended up using a matched pair of heavy-duty floor jacks and placing them under the jacking pads behind the front wheels. It turned out that I needed to place spacers on the jack pads to get the height i needed. I went slowly and checked for stability repeatedly. It worked for me so I used that method again for engine installation.
