Engine Problem...?

yeah man get the code scanned as SOON as possible.
emphasize on the soon, and
if you cant soon try too drive some other car
It could be many problems.
By the way I don't think anybody asked
did you check your oil level?
always start with small stuff first.

Hope I don't sound stupid, but what do you mean by "getting the codes scanned"
When I got done with work that night, the first thing I checked was the oil dipstick. It was fine, so I don't know what was up with the gauge. When they first put in this second engine, they changed the oil (and spark plugs)

The Service Engine Soon light means something is wrong. The OnBoard Diagnostics (OBD)use codes to tell you what's up. AutoZone will scan your cars diagnostics for codes, for free. If we have those, we can better help with your problem.

Alright, thanks. We had the car towed back to the shop that replaced the engine, we're waiting to hear back from them. I wouldn't have been able to drive it to AutoZone to get the diagnostics done though, anyway. But I'll keep it in mind from now on

Well the guy at the shop just said that the engine failed. No idea exactly what it was. They're ordering another engine (third to be in this Camaro) and they should have it next week. No telling how long before I have the car back.

Covered under your Warranty? Or at your expense?
