Engine Code p1406

RE: Engine Code p1406
Removing the EGR does not add or remove power because a properly working EGR valve is closed at WOT, and also at idle. The EGR opens onlyat part throttle to allow some exhaust gas into the intake. This is done mainly to lower NOx emission, and it also allows more part throttle spark advance for better fuel economy. A stuck open EGR will cause hard starting and poor idle, and some loss of power at WOT.
