Default egr valve

I am having trouble with my egr valve. I have discovered that it is not functioning properly and is need of fixing. However before I spend time and money on buying and installing a new one,I need to know if there is a way to fix it without going to a dealer or mechanic. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

It is very simple to replace. If I can do it anyonecan. It is located just to the right of the airbox(on the 3.8). It has one electrial connection you will need to remove, it just clips in and out. Remove two bolts and takeEGR valve off, also remove the old gasket. Put the new gasket on, make sure to grease it, and replacewith the new valve and reinstall the two bolts, plug the electrical connection back in and your done.

On our cars, I believe they are electronic. So, I would have to say that you have no other real option other than to replace, and removal and installation is not very hard at all. Matt99camaro explained it pretty well above.
