you wont see a noticeable gain but yes the car will run fine if you cover it

Not sure if it will run fine without it. Computer looks for input from Coolant temp and other sensors to operate EGR. Also runs diagnostic on EGR to see if its operating properly. Throws DTCode and Malf Ind Light if not. Won't pass emissions test if your state has them. I understand the EGR gas helps keep the combustion temp down.

i already told him it would fail emissions dont think hes too concerned and i am an emission inspector i fail numerous cars for lack of egr valve you can order replacement manifolds that delete EGR valves all together yes a code will be thrown he already has said code but again the only function of an EGR valve is to recirculate exhaust gasses back into the firing cylinder to reduce NOx emissions... your car will drive without one and if ya wanna be really cool you can go down to your local programmer and get your computer reflashed and delete the OBD2 monitor for the EGR valve which will also eliminate the check engine light and if the test in his town is purely OBD2 he will pass just fine

yeah i just replaced the engine in my 95. and for what ever reason i took the part of the egr that gos into the plume off, and now i can't get the holes to line up to put it back on lol. but i live in IL and they dont test my car 95 and later. something about the tester coast to much to test for those cars IDK.
anyway what type of shop would i have to find that could flush my Compter? and i really like the idea of just taking it "egr" off think I'm going to look into headers

I think deleting EGR will reduce fuel economy and increase combustion and exhaust temperatures, with no increase in performance without proper tuning.

Thus, its not a good idea to get rid of it, if you can help it.
