Default EGR Issues

I took my car to autozone yesterday to pull the codes and they told me that it was popping up with an EGR code. I want to be able to just take it off and clean it first and see if that does anything.

I searched for a possible sticky but EGR is too broad of a word. Can anyone help me out on how this can be done? Thanks!

the egr valve on our car is an electronic EGR valve cleaning the inside usually doesnt work more then likely you need to replace it but if you want you can try to clean it out its located on the top front drivers side of the motor i beleive 3 bolts and the electrical clip and it pops right off i replaced mine about 3 months ago took 5 minutes i attached what u are looking for down at the bottom /// sorry its a link cant figure out how to get the damn pictures to work ....

It's only two bolts and an electrical connector...super easy. Can be pricey though. Might want to try a junkyard first.

I actually went downstairs last night and realized it was right there in front. 2 minutes and that bltch was popped off. I did manage to lose one of the nuts.

Anyway, 750chop I was told by someone else to do the same thing as well. Does anyone have any input?

as long as you dont have to pass an emissions test in your state you should be fine the function of an EGR valve is to recirculate exhaust gasses to reduce NOx emissions thats all
