drive shaft help

RE: drive shaft help
Ok, heres what you do, but someone might have something to add:
1. Make sure your parking brake is on and if you want put some blocks around your front tires to prevent it from rolling, and jack up the back of your car..unless you have a lift.
2. Make sure the trans is in park or neutral, just not in gear.
3. Make reference marks on the driveshaft and the pinion flange in line with each other to make sure the driveshaft is reinstalled in the same position to preserve the balance. I'm assuming this is unnecessary with a new driveshaft, considering there will be no specific place to mark on the driveshaft if it isnt already installed, but I included the step anyway.
4. Remove the universal joint blots and clamps. Turn the driveshaft (you can just spin the wheels) as necessary to bring the molts into the most accessible position.
5. If its a two piece, which I'm assuming it is, unbolt the center support bearing. This too, may be unnecessary, not sure.
6. Tape the bearing caps to the spider to prevent the caps from comming off during removal.
7. Lower the rear of the driveshaft. Slide the front of the driveshaft out of the transmission.
8. Wrap a plastic bag over the transmission extrntion housing and secure it in place with a rubber band to prevent loss of fluid and protect against contamination.
Installation:
9. Remove the bag from the transmission and wipe the area clean. Inspect the oil seal carefully..
10. Slide the splined front end of the driveshaft into the transmission.
11. If its a two piece driveshaft, raise the center support bearing into place and bolt it to the vehicle. If its aluminum, I'm assuming its a one piece, making this yet another unnecessary step.
12. Raise the rear of the driveshaft into position.
13. Remove any tape or anything not needed on the driveshaft and install the clamps and bolts. Tighten all bolts to the torque specified.
Basically, i just copied a Chilton. If this doesn't help, hopefully someone else can put it simpler and help out a little more. I've never changed a driveshaft, so I just gave some info from a Chilton...
