Dash Pad

Hmmm....I think hairs are gettin split too much. The replaceable top of the dash has always been referred to as the dash pad. I didn't know a dash pad had to be padded to still be considered a dash pad.

yeah I worked in instrument panels for GM this summer. there are like 5 different names for that part haha

Probably 6 names, if you include "that big piece on top of the dash". lol

Yeah see that was my point. I figured everyone would know what I was talking about when I said "dash pad"... lol

let's see, off the top of my head I can think of "dash pad," "Upper Trim Pad," "Upper Trim Panel," "Upper Trim Panel with Defroster Grille," "Defroster Grille," and with Camaro69's answer, that makes 6

Save your money and buy the real deal. That's what I would do. Gm parts Giant has them for $210 + shipping. I know that's expensive and we can do a lot more with that amount of money, but if your like me if it is suppose to look or work a certain way, that's the way I want it. My family and my employees are always giving me a hard time about that " quirk" . I ordered 2 just the other day, $443 with shipping. There's always salvage yards, if your gonna buy a dash cover, don't get one of those carpet POS!
