Crappy window regulator?
Yo i definetly think i have a crappy window regulator. Where can i get a new one for cheap or any opinons thinking its something else. The problem is the power has progressivley decreased in my driverside window. When i press the button it goes down about an inch then it takes at least 10 mins of driving to go down another inch. (it sucks goin to drive thru windows but its definetly funny)
If you want a cheap regulator or any other power window component, try eBay for parts. Autozone sells good OEM style parts, also. I found some of the best Camaro parts deals at www.partstrain.com. They have an ungodly amount of aftermarker and OEM parts for an honest fraction of what Autozone, Advance Auto, or even GM has to offer.
There is definitely something wrong with the gen 4 power window motors. I've seen numerious posts with problems and I've had to replace both of Mine on My 23,000 mile '96 Z28, and I've never seen one that goes up or down decently fast.
I heard that the stock window motors suck and if you go to a GM parts store they'll give you a revised one. I just looked at the parts train site and they had one for only 24 bucks but im not sure if its the same as the old regulator or the new one? If that makes any sense?
I have the same problem in my 96 dude the people at White Castle now think I'm an idiotfor not rolling down the window to get my food, instead I had to open the door and get out. If your window has excessive movement when you shut your door with your window down at all then mine has the same problem.
Hey guys that white castle reply was funny. I have a 96 crappy window motor also. Ebay sells them cheap but they have 2 models. After market replacement and oem. They say oem will out last after market. If your going through the touble to do it go oem in my opinion. 25.00 aftermarket 40 oem.
very common problem on 4th gen. f bodies. both of mine went out at the same time i think i got a revised version of the motor when i got mine replaced becuz they make a different sound than the old ones did. goes down faster....isnt as noisy... and is just better overall
Nice revival of a post almost a year old! :-P
I replaced the drivers side regulator/motor on my 95 3.4L last year... About a year before that replaced the motor (but should have also replaced the regulator!)
