corvette brake kit conversion duscussion
Hey guys, i have sway bars, shocks/struts, lowering springs, strut bar, big wide tires and 2 winters ago (haven't been on for a long time) i put in a stock ls1 rear end with disk brakes and the stock 1 piece aluminum drive shaft into my 94 v6.
The next thing i want to accompligh is the roll cage, racing seats, harness, steering wheel and custom dash all by the end of this winter coming up.
So i figure i'll start researching my next issue. Before i get to the time i want to be well informed and educated on this matter.
I was wondering what you all know about the c5 upgrade kit onto our year camaros and or anything about the c6 upgrades. Should i just go to the autoparts store and buy oem replacement c5 brakes, and disks? It would be relatively inexpensive considering it's a big brake upgrade kinda. And then what would i do about a master cylinder?
Steel braided brake lines would be an obvious upgrade.
So i'd love to hear anything and everything about this subject! Please inform me so i can not only learn more about our cars but make an informed and smart decision.

You would need some type of adapter for the calipurs and you would need different spindels or you would have to cut up your spindles. The easiest upgrade is the LS1 front brake upgrade. You get about another inch on the rotor and a alumi twin piston calipur.

Very nice suggestion Gorn. Greatly appreciated. Now is the rear also an upgrade? And should i swap over the ls1 brake booster so that way i can still keep the same amount of brake line pressure to keep breaking force the same?

When I first researched this upgrade for both the front and the rear I assumed I would need to change most of the braking parts. This is the old school way of thinking. Going from drums to disks on a 79 ment a new master cylinder and propotioning valve. When I read about the 4th gens no one was switching other parts which suprised me. But a little more research showed the parts from the 97-98 are the same GM part numbers. I think these newer "smarter" system can adapt to different system. I have read of no one complaining about a nose dive or the rear locking up to easy after the upgrades.
