Ok, will coolant flow through your engine if there is no thermo in the system? Can't remember if this has been ask before.

 

dont know cause the problem didnt go away when i took the thermo off and put the outlet back on it didnt cool down

 

Well, if you have to, when the engine is cold, remove the thermo and housing along with the rad hose. Stick a garden hose in the thermo hole and see if you can push water through it. From what you have posted, there is only 1 thing that could be creating your problem and that is a blockage in the motor or outside the motor (radiator) It is just a series of holes molded into the block and heads that water circulates through and the same for the radiator

I second osduck's diagnosis. If it gets that hot and the hoses are all cold, then coolant isn't flowing at all. That's either a blockage somewhere or a bad thermostat. It's possible that your thermostat is rated at the wrong temp, but if you've tried running without a thermostat in there at all then it's a blockage somewhere else. You need to serioiusly flush the whole system, not just the heater core.

 

yea but it took a bit of pressure to unblock the heater core how am i going to flush out the block

 

Same way you did the heater core. Drain the coolant completely, unplug all the hoses, and get your power nozzle on your hose. Spray water in every opening available until gunk starts coming out. Once you get it to the point where water will flow through freely, go buy some radiator flush fluid (a few bucks at any auto store) and follow the directions on the bottle (usually involves running the engine for a while with nothing but water and that cleaner in the system, then draining it back out).

As osduck said, it sounds like you've got some stop-leak in there clogging a passage. If all else fails, get one of those snaking wire brushes and try knocking stuff loose with that...

 

Sound like some or all of the coolant passages thru the heads are blocked. The reason I say the at the heads is because the coolant passages neck down as then pass thru to the head. The back flushing might work but if even one of those passages are still plugged after the back flush you will blow a head gasket because your engine will not cool in that one area. You may want to contact a local rad shop and see if anyone in your area offers a pressurized back flushing. Your radiator is most likely blocked up also since the passages are smaller then the passages in the motor.
