I have a 98 3.8 camaro that is leaking a small amount of antifreeze. i belive it is coming from the temp sending unit. I think i know where it is but i just want to make sure. i dont have a picture but is it off to the right of the oil pressure sensor? and how hard and expensive it it to replace?

I thought the temp sending unit was under the throttle body next to the plastic piece in the picture above. I think you are referring to the cam position sensor down next to the oil sending unit.

I still cant find the coolant leak but it sprays it on the a/c compressor the oil filter and the oil pressure sensor that why i thought it might have been leaking near there but i dont see anything if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. and if anyone has gotten the p1870 code and has replaced the valve body on the transmission

Check the coolant hoses coming from the heater core. Once the car is heated up a little, move them back and forth so see if they are broken or if the orings are leaking. Also, there is a plastic L shaped bypass hose at the bottom of the tensioner just above the oil pressure sending unit. They could have a crack in it.

Had a shop replace that on my 96 3.8 a couple of years ago. It was one part all manifolded together at about $150. They had trouble finding it too. I'm not sure, but maybe there's another fix w/o replacing the whole thing.

Twist the white plastic piece on the hose and pull up at the same time. The hose should come out. There is an Oring on the hose. Take that to NAPA and get them to give you a new one that is as close as you can get. It should seal the leak, unless you actually have a fractured metal peice.
