OK heres the deal. on wednesday afternoon i was on my way to my friends houe, my car was running fine no problems. about 2 hours later i go to start it and as soon as it starts it does a pretty bad backfire.. scared the **** out of me. Well i couldnt leave the car out there so i start driving home. on my way home the car was shaking like a ****** F***er. and backfiring. lucky me my house is only like 5 min away.. about half way home the check engine light came on and started blinking. now i was really scared so i took it off gear and let it ride like that as far as i could. then the light stopped flashing so i put it back in gear and then it blinked again. so i put it in neutral and let it ride.. i did this the whole way home. and i was out of town for thanksgiving untill last night. and i go to start the car and it backfired again and the light was blinking. so i dont want to drive it like that so im gonna have a tow truck pick it up.. do you guys have any idea waht it can be?

A blinking lite is usually an indication of heavy misfire. Get the car scanned & find out what the computer is complaining about.

 

Im lucky my sisters roomate has a dad that owns a shop. so he went to get my car today and hes going to scan it and all for free.. then tell me how much it would be for the reapairs

mine is having the same problem what wrong with your car

 

my problem turned out to be the egr valve.. and i had the spark plugs done. the spark plugs werent all that bad but wouldnt hurt to change them. i can get you a used EGR valve if you would like.. i get discounts from a guy i know.

 

ok Im doing the plugs today How much for the egr valve??

 

new i think it was somerwere around 200.. but used i can get it fro about 70.. juss pay for the valve and the shipping and its yours..
