My check engine light came on tonight when i was coming home.
I Have a 3.8 liter 97 RS with a little under 91k miles on it.
Does Any one know of any common problems???

 

Could be alot of things from the cheap and easy to the expensive and difficult. Have it scanned at autozone.
If its running bad it could be in the ignition system or an o2 sensor. Way hard to say right now. Good luck

 

Ya we definetly need a code. Head to checker or autozone and have them scan it for free. Then post the code.

 

probably just a bad sensor that is easily replaced, thats if it is still running. anyway cant say for sure till u pull the code.

 

Thanks but dont worry guys it went off today after i got some gas, i guess i just didnt screw it on all the way or somethin.

 

When my EGR valve was going bad. The SES would come on and off. So it could be something thats in the process of going out..

 

If it was blinking every so often, is a misfire code. Most others just set the light and it doesn't blink.
