Catalytic Converter
My catalytic converter for my 1994 3.4 liter is rattling and i was wondering if anyone had suggestions about either just taking it off and hollowing it out, or buying a high flow cat. I had replaced the catalytic converter within the past 2 years, but recently i put headers on, and was thinking that it might have caused the replacement regular cat to start rattling. any suggestions would be great!

too bad its only a 3.4........ on the 3.8 camaro, if you alone gut the cat you can race vipers, making about 395 h/p by just gutting the cat alone!

hahaha, i remember that guy.
but anyway, i wouldn't just take it off unless your state isn't strict about stuff like that. i live in kentucky, so most of the officers don't mind seeing as how all the hilljacks would still do it anyway.

Ok, we really need to start linking the new guys to this thread when we talk about it so we don't look like uninformed jackasses

Enjoy that buddy, there's a lot of reading in there, you'll learn lots of stuff you never knew
If you have emissions tests you should probably go with a high flow cat, especially if you have the "sniffer" test. If you don't have emissions you can just put in a test pipe and be done with it.

when i bought my car it had been decatted, one of te first things i did was to order and fit a new cat (got mine from rockauto) and it sounds 100x better, without the cat it has a real nasty tone to it.... there again, this was pobaly amplified by the aftermarket exhaust on it... which is next on the list..
