Default Cat. converter

will cutting out the cat. converter give me a good performance gain? Someone was telling me and he said it was the smartest thing he ever did and he got an excellent performance gain out of it. any answers?

Not on stock exhaust, plus you'll fail emissions. You might see a little gain at the track, but on the street you most likely wouldn't feel a difference. Not to mention you would have to have the o2 DTC's tuned out.

I do have an aftermarket exhaust right now to clarify that. But overall not much difference? hmm.. thanks!

I honestly wouldn't mess with it. If you had headers and a decent cat-back, I would however get a high-flow cat, I could see through the one I used to have (try that on a stocker). I have headers and a 3" mandrel bent exhaust, and cut out the cat just to see what would result. More rasp, louder exhaust, no difference in track times. I would get some headers and shave the baffles off your intake lid if you haven't already, let her breath some.
