Car "lugging"
hi, i have a 94 3.4 ltr base model camaro which is having a problem. It seems to be losing power or "lugging" when i put the car under a load by accelerating. i have cleaned the fuel injectors with some treatment, i've also replaced the air filter, fuel filter, and changed the oil. It may just be coincidence, but i believe it also starts lugging after i've driven it awhile. does anyone have any ideas? any would be appreciated!
I used to have a 3.4 Camaro, and it lugged by nature!
Check your cat converter to see if it's getting red hot after a drive. If so, it's probably choking on you, and you'll need to figure out if it's possibly from the cat being broken apart and restricted, or if you have a rich fuel condition causing the cat to have a melt down.

no SES lights. however my airbag light has been on since i got the car fixed after sitting for months. but it had this lugging problem before all that happened. So how would i go about checking my cat or checking if it has a rich fuel mixture?
get under the car and with your hand hit the cat if it rattles its broken and needs to be replaced/removed also like gorn said go for a nice long drive (10 miles or so) then get under there and see if its glowing (this test is best done at night) if it is you either have restrictions or are running rich (usually running rich will leave a really strong smell of fuel in the exhaust)
