Can an intake gasket failure cause the cooling system to build pressure?

I will have to look for the info but there is some sweet solid copper headgaskets for these now and if you got couple of extra bucks you can upgrade the rockers for a few extra ponies.

This is a head gasket or cracked head issue all the way. I was guessing this well before I seen the results of the #4. The engine was pushing compression pressure into the water jacket but not sucking any antifreeze back into the cylinder. My X had a tempo do this to us and it turned out to be a cracked head. These 3.8L engines are not known to blow head gaskets or crack heads so I would defidently check things over when you have it apart. The 3.8 heads can be removed without removing the engine but dropping the engine out the bottom of the car would make this job alot easier.

Since he knows the heads are warped I think he already has them off. Head gaskets are very common on the 3.8. In fact that and intakes are the only common engine repair I can think of. One warped head is not common on these cars unless it has overheaded real bad. 2 warped heads is an indication that something went real wrong.

It was a pain to do it in car, but I did it. Had the heads checked for cracks and resurfaced. I know exactly what happened to this car, the evidence is clear. The intake gasket started leaking and they put stop leak in and continued to drive. The intake gasket was completely destroyed.
