This is not about if you should be embarrassed. First of all you own a v6 Camaro these are for suckers to buy so they can look cool so don't try to race it cause you will lose. Secondly everyone is saying SRT-4 is fast this is not correct. They can go fast so i mean they can do 130+ potentially. They are not quick meaning 1/4 mile time high 14's is slow. Most don't understand the difference between fast and quick so please people quick cars accelerate at at a high rate fast cars carry top speed. Hints why there are the quickest cars in the world and the fastest cars in the world. My 68 with 350sbc 4-speed Muncie with 3.73 Eaton posi in a 12 bolt can go fast yes around 140 maybe little more, can you hold it all day hell no! Will it snap a speedo in under a 1/4 mile yes no problem and do it again and again so its quick not fast but can go fast for short time. can a srt-4 beat me yeah with 5k plus in an engine. can it beat me if i have 5k plus in an engine never ever. point ending up being put same money in camaro as neon and the neon will always lose. RECAP don't race or buy a v6 camaro!!

On a personal note. I have own multiple 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen Camaros. I loved my 1996 3800 5 speed. With a few upgrade it was a fun car to drive and would out run many 2nd and 3rd gen V8 Camaro. Of course my first gen SS would destroy it in a straight line but on a road course it would not be so back and white. Oh and it did get 30 MPG. I was commuting 110 miles a day in a Sunfire. 3800 can't touch a LS1 but it was a heck of a lot more fun then freken Sunfire plus the insurance was crazy cheap.

Keep in mind that 10 years ago Any v8 4th gen Camaro in semi decent shape was 10K with LS1's costing 20ish. The price combined with the increase insurance cost for a younger guy put the V8's way out of reach of most High School or Collage kids.

 

yes i love my v6 an my v8 ,got to love the cars for what they are ,kids think they are race cars there not bottom line no one with commen sence should race a v6 200hp car against anything newer then 02 ,v6 cars are for people that dont need a v8 car an love the style of the 4th gen for what they are ,an for there day they were right on top,i like my v6 for leather AC looks gas milage an get up goes pretty good into trraffick race it no way,trix are for kids ,so they are good cars an we have many owners that would not want to hear any bashing ,they have sites where that is acceptable ,becouse the site will say so ,hear have some respect on the 10 year old thread why dont we race our stock lawn mowers ,NEITHER CAR SHOULD BE RACED FOR ANY REASON other then stupidity ,its like wakeing the dead hear ,race cars are for raceing ,these cars are made for daily driveing

 

That Neon also weighs 400-500 lbs less than a Camaro V-6,good power to weight ratio is always an advantage.
