I have a 3800, and V6 power questions get into grey areas, and ultimately come down to asking yourself 2 questions.
1. What do you want your car for? What are you using it for?
2. How much are you willing to spend, and how much is acceptable life expectancy of your car?

V6 are fun Camaros. They are very capable of pulling very high 20s/border 30s in MPG, and don't leave you ever feeling underpowered at the go. They do show that they are indeed 6 cylinders at higher speeds, but it is what it is. A sporty car that's practical, gets good gas mileage, are affordable, and have enough get up to be a blast to drive. I added the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust and I loved the look, feel, and sound that came with it, especially the little extra kick from the handful of HP gained. This summer, I put on the SLP CAI and I was in love! That this gave some much of a NOTICABLEpower punch that it's well worth it's money. And now I am done. I have no interest in dumping more money in hopes of chasing 250 HP.

If I wanted that much power, I'd buy a Z28 or an SS model. Simple as that. I know there is a sense of fun in a souped up V6, and trust me, I love kicking the *** of some macho V8 man in his 155 HP 1976 Camaro who laughs at us having a V6. But, at the end of the day, weigh out the cost vs power ratio. V6 to V8, 8 cylinders will always win. Same goes for Big Block Power vs Small Block Power back in the old days.

Take them for what they are, aside headers and a drive shaft, I imagine any gains you are looking for after exhaust and intake are going to be expensive ones. And the ones that you can afford won't give you what you want. Enjoy it for what it is man. And just know that those macho V8 guys in 1984 Z28s are in your mirror.
