Default Camaro just turned off on highway when I was going 80 mph!!!

To start off, I was driving on the highway. I was going about 75 mph. The next thing I know, I am slowing down and the gas pedal wasnt working. I look down at my dash and notice a service engine soon light on that was not previously on and all my gages read zero. The speedometer, oil pressure, everything. I look up to steer off the highway and I look back down at the dash and the check gages light was on and the service engine soon light was off. When I had it pulled over, I turned the engine off. The car was not overheating, and during this whole process, the radio was still working, even after the car started to malfunction. I tried to start the engine but now it doesnt start. It turns over but it just wont start.

Any ideas? There was also no sputtering or any sounds when this happened. The fuel tank was full. I am pretty sure I have provided all information that I recall on this circumstance and I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Oh and I have a 94 V6 automatic

check all of you fuses no you say it turned off on the highway but then you said you turned the engine off after you pulled over if the car stalled while moving the SES would turn on no matter what

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem before, but I have. The only good information I can provide you with is to check your alternator and starter cables. If you're hot cable comes loose, it could have the side effects of a dead battery or just shutting off. I would check all wiring and check for loose fuses if one were to reconnect while the car was supposed to be on, it could possibly power back on.

For you basic, re-read the listing and he says it came back on while rolling.

Ok well it didnt turn off technically, but the accelerator wasnt working and all my gages were at zero, as if it were off. When I pulled over, I literally turned the ignition off. I got no response from the gas pedal at all while I was sitting there. I wouldnt say it stalled because it didnt sputter or anything like I have had happened from other stalls. I literally wouldnt have known something was wrong until the accelerator wasnt working.

But I will go and check the wires today. Let me know if there are anymore suggestions.

clean (wire brush) the battery terminals and battery cable ends, clean the ends to the wires at the power junction box. its the red plastic box on the passenger side wheelwell. theres also a ground junction next to the power box, check and clean those wire ends as well. get the tester out and find out if the fuse box is getting power. check the ignition fuse and while doing that check the plug to see if your are getting power to it. when key is on is the security light on?

the problem could be in the body control modual.

Yes, when the key is in the ignition, the lights are on. All the power accessories work fine (ie: windows, radio, and lights).

Is it possible that its the fuel system? Like my fuel pump or the furl filter clogged?

Try priming it by pouring a little gas down the throat (the throttle body, not yours)
If it fires, it's a fuel supply problem.

So I followed craby's advice. I cleaned the battery terminals, and the wire ends at the power junction box. But I took the box out at the back of the engine, and found that one of the plugs came undone. I plugged it back in and it started! So thats exciting. It is fixed now. Thanks to everyone for the advice. I always know exactly where to turn when I have a problem with my Camaro
