A/C Clutch Bearing Replacement
Hello,
This is my first post to this group so hello everyone and I hope there is an expert out there that can help.
I am trying to replace the A/C clutch bearing on a '94 Camaro 3.4L and I have run into a problem.
There is a retainer of some sort (looks like a tab washer) holding the clutch plate cover to the compressor assembly. I can't seem to remove said retainer. Does anyone know if there is a special tool for this or a trick that they know of? I tried going to the local Chevy dealer to eyeball the part but that retainer type was not in the part assembly.
I hope someone out there has done this job and can offer advice.
Thanks in advance.
Geoff

You need special tools to do work on the AC compressor. Best thing IMO is to let arebuilder handle it. By the way, you posted in the wrong section, the 3.4 is not a LT1, so the post was moved.

the 3.4 is not a LT1,
the 3.4 is not a LT1,

He can also dream about owning a puller, installer and a holding tool. Plus adjusting the clutch to the right gap.
