I have a V6 98 Camaro. Runs fine. But if you look in the radiator or the coolent tank it is brown. The is this brown "Sludge" on the cap and the coolent dipstick. I had the radiator flushed a while back, but it is still there. Any ideas as to what it is? The oil dipstick look OK.

 

Go install the Prestone flush kit, and buy some super flush!

 

Still have a little oil getting in there, def need to get the kit and get it cleaned really well

 

yeah man i had that. So i get my radiator flushed and rodded

 

i have the same problem, had it flushed too. what is that sludge? i don't think oil got in there, i just think mine got really dirty.

 

All of my chevys have had this form of brown sludge in the radiator and reserve. I believe that it could be the way that pink antifreeze gets after 10 years or however long its good for. Reason for my theory is thati had a bottle of the pink antifreeze for a very long time and it stayed out side andgot hot and cold over and over just as a car might do. And one day i opened it and it had brown crap on the side wall of the jug kinda like my 01 camaro. I guess green wasnt that bad afterall.lol

 

Probably rust & stop leak gunk?!
