brakelight out, bulb replace doesn't fix
My gf's 2002 V6 driver's side brake light isn't working. Replacing the bulb doesn't fix it... other brake lights come on so it shouldn't be the fuse. Here's what I've looked at.
-Checked voltage between electrodes in the socket with brake lights on, zero volts. Made me suspect a bad socket.
-Stripped off a bit of wire behind the socket and measured voltage, still no voltage.
-With car off, measured resistance between electrodes, which was ~0 Ohm, so they're shorted somewhere. I don't know what the upstream electronics look like, maybe they're supposed to be shorted when the car is off.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions? The old bulb is burned out, to the point where the whole thing is black.
Thanks for the help.
