have you replaced it? because on every car I have ever owned or knowned when they belts squeek you replace em because they are slipping. I dont know if this is your problem but you didnt say anything about when it does it or if it changes sound wise and so on.

Belt squeaks with these serpentine belts are common once the belt gets old and hard (read that as "prone to fail soon"). But they'll also squeak if one of the pullys are out of alignment. Make sure the idler and tensioner pully bearings aren't the cause of your squeak and if you're too cheap to replace the belt, a little talcum powder (not corn starch) on the inside of the belt will stop the squeak for a bit.

I'd check the bearing in the big idler pully. Pop off the belt, remove the pully and press against the center of the bearing as you turn it. Do this for both sides of the bearing. You don't want to feel any grinding, tight spots, roughnessor excessive loosness in the bearing. They're a common failure item, modestly priced and in stock at most parts stores.

Your local library probably has some good books with nice pictures that should be able to help you learn some of these basics. I don't want to confuse you by saying something like "It's the 5" (or so) round thing on the left (passenger) front side of the engine with a single 13mm hex head bolt holding it in place. Oh by the way the belt is in contact with it so if you got lost you could just follow the belt around until you found a pully that's not connected to anything like the water pump, power steering, alternator, crankshaft or auto tensioner."
