Default belt or pully squeeking.....

well i fixed my overheating issues since i was last on here i bought a new belt recently and new belt tensioner assymbly. i tried some candle wax to the sides of the belt it quieted down a bit but still chirps when you listen to the tension pulley you can hear that it has a bad bearing and the pully vibrates a lot... does anyone have a diagram or anything as far as how the tensioner assymbly comes off to be replaced and if there are any torque rates? I work on aircraft so working on a car is way different....

Either you have a defective tensioner pulley, or your AC compressor/clutch bearing is seizing up. Take the belt off and spin the pulleys. If it doesn't spin smooth then there's an issue. The tightening specifications for the bolts is 37 foot pounds.

The tensioner arm does not come off the entire assy. YOu need to replace the heater hose manifold along with the 2 plastic elbows and the tensioner. If it is new then it should be under warranty and you can replace it for almost free (you have to buy new antifreeze)

Check the Idler pulley (right above the A/C) and see if that one is going bad or not. That pulley will make the belt vibrate at the tensioner if it is going bad.

ok i replaced the entire tensioner pully assembly along with the two elbows, the problem i'm having now are the two hoses that come to and from the heater core, they have two plastic or fiberglass clips that clip into the tension pulley assemlby i can't find those hoses and clips anywhere i called a dealership and they just sell the whole rubber hose and aluminum assembly to the heater core for 172 bucks anyone know where i can find them i don't know exactly what their called, btw i have the old ones connected right now but the hoses are going bad so they need to be replaced but the squeeking noise has stopped and running smooth

Check out Darling Rejects build thread in the main 4th gen page, she bought some adaptors that allow you to use regular hoses instead of buying the one piece GM unit.
