Default To anyone who can really help me out here please.

Hello, this is my first post and im glad i have a chance to explain my car problems to good people on this board, here is my question, OK i bought a 94 camaro (3.4 sfi v6) from a buddy of mine and the only problem it had was that it needed a new radator cause the water wouldnt stay put? so i had it for about a year and the last time i drove it, it had over heated and the temp gage went up and down really fast, so i parked it and it would have truoble starting but i got it to start, so the next day i went to work and my car was like dying on me, when i finally got it to start , i saw like either smoke or like water coming from the back pipes, so it let me ride it home and since then it never started, only one time i got it to start but i had to keep giving it gas, so my question to you camaro heads out there, what is wrong with my car, there is no water in the oil, i took the starter off and tested it and it does work so im clueless, would you please lend a helping hand thank you.

not saying that a blown head gasket is you problem but, just because you don't have water in your oil doesn't mean your head gasket isn't blown. as long as your rings are good the cylinders can keep water out of the crank case. it will eventually seep in if it sets long enough. nevertheless are you sure it run hot? you said the guage went up and down fast? sick

are you sure its not your starter solenoid? mine went bad and it made that same click, replaced it and it started fine, make sure its grounded to the battery terminal also, that solves many problems.

Sounds like your starter is going bad....and you may want to check your spark plugs to see if they are wet. ( if they are you may have a blown head gasket ). I had a smiliar problem with my 94. I just took it the shop had my radiator replaced and the hoses. Replaced my thermostat with a Hypertech 160 degree thermostat. Made sure that my water pump was working. ( check the weeping hole on top of the water pump, if it's wet , your waterpump is going ). After that No more overheating. Now it did cost me about $400 for this...but it was worth it.

If you have a blown head gasket, as it may be in your case, there is a good chance that coolant entered into a cylider and causing hydrolock. Since coolant cannot be compressed, its is preventing the starter from turning the engine. Pull out all the spark plugs and see if the starter can now spin the engine, and check for water being blown out of one of the plug holes. The cylinder blowing out water is the bad one.
