Smoke or steam? You know where exactly the leak or 'smoke' is coming from?

Im guessing it's steam cuz it doesn't smell like smoke, but my whole car smells like anti freeze and it's leaking from the bottom and when I look in the engine, i see it leaking from the middle of the engine by the belt. The steam is coming from the top of the engine.

That or the dread plastic elbow that goes from the tensioner to the intake... I hate that damn thing.

Elbow is about three bucks. You can find it in the aisles at Oriellys. To replace it, you need to remove your alternator, which lets you remove your tensioner assembly, to replace the elbow, which requires you to be able to replace it by feel. Odds are some of it will break in the passage ways and you will have to remove the leftover crap before you can put the new elbow in.

what are you talking about..... t-stat housing or gasket, NOT the thermostat.... a bad t-stat will either cause your car to run hot or cold, not leaking coolant and steam, unless its stuck closed then it will over flow into the OVERFLOW tank...but thats not the case here because then he would be also over heating
