AC Whine/Tiger Growl Sound Cause?

Lovely, just more proof that GM shops have ****ty techs -- how many visits to the same shop, and they just never notice something so obvious!? wow. I wasn't sure if there was some alternator design change eliminating one of the three bolts… I am pretty sure this 3rd bolt has been missing since I bought the car (I am 2nd owner).

Thread complete, had to file a BBB complaint, GM complaint and Chamber of Commerce complaint against the incompetent service shop (Stasek Chevrolet) that missed the broken alternator and they finally replaced it, along with another repair they were supposed to do on that same visit (e-brake dust boot replacement). Guess what, all growl sounds are completely gone that I had before with AC on.
They sure did not like being pointed out as missing something so basic. Unreal what happens these days with service shops. The same shop (as well as another shop - Zeigler Chevrolet) could not find my coolant leak after doing a pressure test (but I can loose a quart or two every couple weeks), could not figure out the squeaking power steering when I turn left & right (intermittent), nor the trans coolant line leak where the metal crimps the rubber hose going to the radiator (they called it a "seep") which the extended warranty won't cover unless it's a "leak".
Wow.
