mine came on when I went thru a big puddle of water... was on for 3 weeks till it rained again. I went thru another big puddle of water and it went off and hasn't come back on since. I did notice that if I turned the car off and turned it back on the light would go off. I think maybe the sensor might have been off a lil or something and going thru the water again righted whatever was wrong.

I recently purchased a 96 that had the ABS light energized. I found one of the wires that attaches to the sensor behind the front hub had a bad connection. I ohmed it out with a meter, sensor was good. Then I ohmed out the wire at the connection just inside the fender above the frame. There was no reading. Cleaned the connection at the sensor and light went out.

make sure that your 3rd brake light works. mine came on and that light went out.
the funny thing was that i said i would replace it later because i was busy and about a week later, the light went off. it hasnt come back on since but the light is still broken

Get your ABS system diagnosed with a scan tool at a good shop (note that most store bought scan tools do NOT scan the ABS system), they can determine the failure which is most likely one of the wheel speed sensors (the test is if they don't all detect the same speed, as I recall), or the ABS motor pack (which I had go out on my '95 3.4L), which is an easy driveway replacement, just order it online as save some cash...
