My '97 has been filled up past 14.5 gallons several times, no warning that you're about to run out either. Of course I have no problem affording gas, so I fill it up ALL the way. Every car I've ever owned does the same thing when you fill just half assed. Looks like you have more than you actually put in there.

 

well my 97 camaro, i can fill it up, put about 12 gallons in because I dont let it get too far below a quarter of a tank, and press my brakes hard and drop it to half a tank, then accelerate and pull it up to a tank and a half, and when im idling it will be either one of those and no where in between, so i just fill up every 250 miles lol
