97 camaro rs engine specs
Does anyone know where i can find good engine specs for a 97 camaro RS? i can only find the basics and i need info for the cylinder heads, valve specs(diameter) induction flow(cfm) manifold type, camshaft specs like valve lift for intake and exhaust, lifter type, i need the degree that the intake valve opens and closes as well as when the exhaust valve opens/closes. and what degree is the timing (when is the spark firing)
thanks

This info is found in my brain.
3.8 inch bore, 3.4 inch stroke
1.8" intake, and 1.52" exhaust valves
Stock cam is 182/192 .413/.413 115
Hydraulic roller lifters.
Degrees are dependent on your camshaft, crankshaft, etc. Every car is different since not every part is exactly the same. You'd have to figure out at what degree your cylinder is at TDC and then measure the camshaft degree. Since this is an oddfire engine, it will change for the 2 cylinder and 6 cylinder firing (I think). Get out some tools and find out yourself is really the only way to know.
And sorry... I don't know the degree they are SUPPOSED to open. Email Comp Cams, I'm sure they know.
Timing is variable and is controlled by the computer using an algorithm.

If it helps your search the fact it is RS has nothing to do with the motor. Its a standard 3800 II pretty much the same from 93-2004 in many front wheel drive cars.

Oops you needed cylinder head info
2 valves per cylinder and 64cc combustion chambers. Stock heads flow around 180cfm at .500 lift
Anything else?

thanks evilkal. that helped alot. ill email comp cams about then camshaft and do you know what type of cylinder heads they use in that motor? if their wedged, canted, 4 valve etc. IM trying to do a project for school and i cant find anything on these motors..funny because they seem so popular with chevys. And any idea what typ of manifold is used?
Gorn- ya i know i was just tying to be specific incase something little was different. as i said to evikal im doing a project for school and the more info and the more precise the better. thanks though
