I have the 98 v6 3800 series 2 camaro. I did the intake gaskets, and it's pretty easy. Just make sure you replace them with the aluminum gaskets. I have to get all of my plugs from the bottom except the two up front. I was going to say move the coils around and see if the missfire moves with the coil? Gd luck, and let me know if you need any guidance with the intake replacement. Oh the head gaskets on these engines are pretty tuff.

 

I had a 96 3.8 that missed in #4 like mad with weak plugs and wires, gave it a tune up and it ran like a champ and then my evap system went nuts and broke... so I wound up replacing the whole thing. I feel your pain in that buy. I did the same thing...

Edit: I also had to replace the coils too, the #4 one was bad. I have 2 laying around with a fuel rail, if you're local you can just have it...

 

Well the car seems to be running pretty good now except for the purge valve code. I still have not got to that. My main problem is the transmisison leaks a LOT of fluid out the shift shaft seal and I put 2 in and then paid someone to put one in. It is worse now after paying someone to fix it! Does anyone know what I do to stop the leak. It runs out everywhere all over the floor and even down the drain. I'm afraid we are going to ruin the transmission. Is there a sleave or something I'm missing?
