okay so i bought my camaro for $200 in december needing head gaskets, at the time i was under the impression it was a 95 3.4l (i had heard that was the last year for the 3.4) well after changing the head gaskets it ran but like s**t in closed loop so i brought it into auto tech with me and when we put the vin in the scanner it comes up as a 96, my mom has a 96 camaro but hers has a 3.8. Did they make both a 3.4 and 3.8 in 96? Im super confused so any help would be great.

 

No GM did not make a 1996 3.4. THe only years that had both engines where the 95s

 

so is their a reason my car would have a 95 3.4v6 and a 96 vin?
i have a frankincar..

 

just looked the vin up online and it says its a 95. guess the scaner is just wrong or something.
