94 3.4 Coolant system Nightmare
So everything with my 3.4 was fine until about a week ago when I had a throttle body coolant hose get a pin hole, and it sprayed the engine. I was conveniently by an autozone so I got a piece of 3/8 in hose and put it in place of the pre-bent hose, and I thought everything was fine. Didn't need to use the heat until a few days later, and now I have no heat.
Trying to fix the no heat problem, I replaced the plastic piece within the quick connect in the LIM and it still leaks..
I am planning on putting in a whole new metal fitting by Dorman. This way I should have no leaks from that spot. Could this be causing my lack of heat?
I also burped the system by removing the temp sensor and filling radiator until coolant came out of it.. Then put the sensor back in, and filled up the radiator.
I also tried to fix it by bypassing the throttle body with the same piece of hose I had got to fix the leak thinking that it wasn't allowing enough pressure to flow through as both hoses into the heater core aren't warm nor are they cold.
I just tried to burp the system again, this time by running the car up to operating temp with the radiator open and I waited for my tstat to click so I could poor more antifreeze into the radiator, and it never happened. Car got up to operating temp and just sat there for about 10 minutes.. Didn't try to get any hotter, and the coolant in the radiator was just steaming and I saw a few bubbles rise out.. It is snowing right now and I was trying this on my break at work. I love my Camaro, but having no heat in the winter in colorado sucks!!
Could this be an AC related issue? I know it leaks freon, because I filled it once during the summer and had cold air for all but 2 days..

could be a airlock. try parking the car on the steepest hill you can find with the front of the car on the up side. let it cool and fill radiator, start and see if it needs more. there is a restrictor in the heater hose that could be pluged and not letting coolant to the core or core could be plugged.

Aha. I read some where else about "using physics to your advantage", and this must be it. When I tried at work, I don't know if I allowed enough time for the Thermostat to kick on(32 degrees or less out), and it is a completely flat parking lot so that was no help. lol Time to back the Tahoe out of the driveway and put the Maro in it tomorrow when shes cold.
So this morning I went out and put the Camaro in the driveway, turned it off. Popped radiator cap off and let the car run up to temp. It got up there and didn't want to go any higher? so I reved her until the thermostat opened up and it sucked the fluid down in the radiator. I added more, and then it started to bubble and steam... I let it bubble off until coolant started to come out of the radiator, and then I capped her. The heat is there, but then it goes away.. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do you think a possibly clogged heater core? I felt the hoses again, and this time they got a little warmer and my quick connect quit leaking.
Thanks for the help guys!

sure sounds like you still have some air in there. did you squeeze the big hoses to get coolant to move around? might try flushing the heater core and back flushing the heater hoses to see if you can get anything outa the restrictor.
