'93 camaro engine issues
Alright, i have a '93 with a good body (i believe) and everything seems to be just fine, but recently my crank shaft went out on me... i have a little experience with cars (ive replaced a head gasket on a 2.2L s10 and put a tranny back onto a 95 eclipse gst and stuff like that) but ive never pulled or put in an engine. i love the car and dont want to see it go, so im thinking about putting another 3.4 in it (since ive heard its fairly easy as far as engine swaps go). i was wondering how much time it typically takes someone to do a job like that and where would i start looking for an affordable engine (hopefulle no more than $1K). any help would be great (diagrams for the engine removal/install maybe...?) Thanks!

Takes a few hours with a helping hand to get the engine out (take it out the bottom). Install is obviously a little longer but if you have experience and/or an experienced mechanic helping you, you should have no trouble at all doing it in a few days.
And the 3.4s are very cheap to buy used. I'd just go around looking at pick n pull yards for a donor and try to get the engine for cheap. Most of the parts from your engine will be reusable (basically the entire top end).
Pick up a Chilton's manual. It will help you with torque numbers for bolts and which order to do it in and such.

ok. i already have a book n it (i think its a haynes manual or somethin like that). i dont have a lot of room at my place for a whole donor car, so ill probably just get the engine and maybe a part or two that i need if i find a car (as i need a few things for the trans-am my girl has). i do have a little experience, though i dont really have anyone to help me out (just my girl pretty much). how much do those engines usually run for (price wise)?
I would plan on a good full 2 days to pull the engine and replace with another one. Its the little stuff that takes alot of time, like reconnecting the engine to tranny, installing the drive shaft, bleeding the brake system, replacing the radiator and fans, etc. Depending on your location and the condition of the engine, the engine could run anywhere from $400 to $1000.
i have a 93 lt1 z28...i am rebuilding the engine an was wondering if i bored out to 60over...is that ok if im still gunna use it as a daily driver..? an im selling a rebuilt 350 crate engine...really cheap...let me no thanks
60 is dead max then you run the risk of cracking the walls id go 30 over and a forced air system but still with 30 over id get it sleeved theres no point in spending all the money to bore it out just to crack the block
